What We Build

JHAs written for how the work actually happens.

A Job Hazard Analysis breaks a task down into its sequential steps, identifies the hazard associated with each step, and documents the control measure that reduces or eliminates that hazard. When a JHA is written by someone who has actually performed or closely supervised that task, it reflects the real sequence of work — not a textbook description of it.

Blueprint Safety writes JHAs for the scopes you self-perform: concrete work, excavation, steel erection, utility installation, demolition, roofing, and more. Each JHA identifies hazards in the order a crew member would encounter them, specifies the controls in plain language your PM can explain at a toolbox talk, and documents PPE requirements and competent person responsibilities in a format GCs can accept without asking for revisions.

JHAs can be delivered as standalone documents or integrated into your company safety manual and OSHA written programs. We also develop activity hazard analyses (AHAs) for federal and state project submissions when your contract requires them.

Common JHA Scopes

  • Concrete Forming & Pouring
  • Excavation & Trenching
  • Steel Erection & Ironwork
  • Roofing & Elevated Work
  • Demolition Activities
  • Underground Utility Installation
  • Electrical Rough-In
  • HVAC Ductwork & Piping
  • Material Handling & Rigging
  • Scaffold Erection & Dismantling

Why It Matters

GCs expect them. OSHA checks them. Workers need them.

01

Preconstruction Requirements

Most GCs require JHAs before your crew starts a new scope. Having them ready — and written at a level GC safety staff approves — keeps work from being stopped before it starts.

02

OSHA & Regulatory Defense

OSHA inspectors routinely ask for JHAs during site visits. A documented, current JHA for the work underway demonstrates a functioning safety management system.

03

Incident Prevention

A JHA reviewed at the tailgate before a high-hazard task is one of the most cost-effective injury prevention tools in construction. We write them so they work in the field, not just in the file.
